My name is Mark O’Neal, and I grew up on the southside of Chicago in the 70s. My journey as a writer began right before my fortieth birthday as I struggled mightily to find my purpose in life. I’ve worked numerous jobs since graduating from college such as retail management, shipping and receiving, mail room and check processing to name a few; but every job I’ve held left me more frustrated each passing year. I knew that there had to be more to life than merely existing without any fulfillment.
I once heard that if you find something you love doing, you’ll never work another day in your life. I found my purpose in writing, and it feels like Christmas each time I stroke the keyboard of my computer. Writing feels natural to me just like breathing, and I’ve spent countless hours honing my skills. I wrote my first fiction novel titled Ulterior Motives back in 2008, and I have numerous projects to be released in the near future.
